The mission of the credit union is to serve the financial needs of our members, to respect the questions of our members, and to lead a positive outlook for the financial future of our members.
Greater Pittsburgh Federal Credit Union has served employees of the University of Pittsburgh, UPMC, and other employers in the Pittsburgh Area since 1955.
The University of Pittsburgh was the original sponsor for the credit union. The University of Pittsburgh Federal Credit Union was founded November 25, 1955 and started in the basement of the Cathedral of Learning. In January 1992, the credit union changed its name to Greater Pittsburgh Federal Credit Union. For over 20 years, the credit union has been located in historic Webster Hall in Oakland. Today, we serve over 30 different employers in the Greater Pittsburgh area.
Becoming a member of Greater Pittsburgh FCU is a simple process and opens doors to many benefits. To be eligible to join, you must currently work for one of our affiliate employers or an immediate family member of a current Greater Pittsburgh FCU member.
