NCUA INSURANCE COVERAGE

Notice of changes in temporary NCUA Insurance Coverage for transaction accounts:  All funds in noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are insured in full by the National Credit Union Administration through December 31, 2012.  This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000.00 available to members under the NCUA's general share insurance rules.  The term noninterest-bearing transaction account includes a traditional share draft account (or demand deposit account) on which the insured credit union pays no interest or dividend.  It does not include any transaction account that may earn interest or dividends, a negotiable order of withdrawal (NOW) account, money market deposit account, and Interest on Lawyers Trust Account (IOLTA), even if share drafts may be drawn on the account.  For more information about temporary NCUA insurance coverage of transaction accounts, visit www.ncua.gov

MEMBER NOTICE

To our account holders and potential account holders:

In accordance with Section 326 of the USA Patriot Act of 2001, which requires the Greater Pittsburgh Federal Credit Union (GPFCU) to help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, GPFCU is required to obtain basic identifying information from you and verify that information when you open a new account.

This means the GPFCU staff will ask you form some basic information such as your name, address, date of birth, and other information designed to help us identify you.  Our staff will also ask to see documents identifying you such as a social security card, driver's license, passport, and/or some other government-issued document.

In some cases, identification will be requested for those individuals conducting business with GPFCU prior to the effective date of the  member identification requirements.  This is because original documentation was not obtained with the opening of the account or we are  unable to form a reasonable belief that we know the true identity of the existing account holder.

In all cases, protection of our member's identity and confidentiality is the Credit Union's pledge to you.  GPFCU appreciates your patience and understanding as we all do our part in complying with the new account identification procedures required by the federal USA Patriot Act of 2001.
